Noela Vasquez Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Twentynine Palms Highway [Twentynine Palms, CA]

Twentynine Palms, CA (September 18, 2021) – On Wednesday, Toyota passenger Noela Vasquez, and driver 52-year-old David Carlisle, both from  Desert Hot Springs, suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Twentynine Palms Highway.

The accident took place before 9:26 a.m at the intersection with Larrea Avenue.

Officers said Carlisle and Vasquez, were in an eastbound green Toyota on the highway while 27-year-old Victoria Pinilla of Twentynine Palms, was northbound on Larrea Avenue.

Pinilla was turning left onto the highway in a white Ford Explorer.

Investigating officers believe Pinilla was on a green light and Carlisle failed to stop at the intersection’s red light and the vehicles crashed head-on.

The Toyota continued east and struck the curb on the highway. On the other hand, the Explorer spun in the intersection and rested on its wheels near the southeast corner.

Firefighters pulled Vasquez and Carlisle out of their vehicle and rushed them to local hospitals.

Pinilla got out of the Explorer on her own and did not suffer injuries from the crash.

The authorities do not think alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
