16-Year-Old Boy Hurt in Victorville Pedestrian Accident on Topaz Road and Arvila Drive

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 12, 2021) – Wednesday morning, a pedestrian crash on Topaz Road and Arvila Drive led to no serious injuries.
 
The incident happened at around 7:16 a.m. on Topaz Road and Arvila Drive. Moreover, it occurred near the Cobalt Institute of Math and Science (CIMS).
 
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez confirmed that a 16-year-old boy ran into the roadway. He ran in between cars that were stopped in the roadway, leaving the school area. Then, he went into the path of a Ford pickup truck.
 
“The driver was going approximately 15 mph and was unable to stop in time and hit the boy,” said Rodriguez.
 
Rodriguez confirmed that the boy didn’t suffer serious injuries. However, responders took him to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. “He complained of some pain to his side and had some redness to one arm.”
 
Meanwhile, the truck driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with deputies conducting the investigation.
