Officers Respond to Collision Near the State Route 512 Exit
Tacoma, WA (October 19, 2022) – On Tuesday morning, the authorities responded to a vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
The traffic incident took place on the southbound freeway past the State Route 512 exit.
Officers say a car driver with two passengers was traveling too fast and was nodding off before the car overturned.
Apparently, a passenger noticed the driver was swerving out of his lane, so she tried to turn the steering wheel and over-corrected. As a result, the vehicle turned onto its side.
Meanwhile, police say there is no indication the driver was impaired, but he still received an infraction for second-degree negligent driving.
Luckily, no other vehicles were struck and no serious injuries were reported in the collision near the State Route 512 exit.
When driving, it is important to follow all driving laws and the conditions of the road. If you see any vehicle or driver that looks dangerous, keep your distance. If you see a vehicle weaving in and out of the lanes, following too closely, or traveling at a higher rate of speed, move over a few lanes and get out of their way.
Driving defensively is a great way to avoid unwanted traffic accidents similar to the collision near the State Route 512 exit.
