Shooting Incident Ends in Richmond Auto Accident on Interstate 80 and San Pablo Avenue

 
RICHMOND, CA (April 15, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 and San Pablo Avenue led to no injuries.
 
According to reports, the CHP officers responded after receiving reports of a two-vehicle crash just before 4:40 p.m. The incident occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 at the San Pablo Avenue off-ramp. According to CHP Officer David Arias, the report said that the incident blocked lanes and is calling for an ambulance.
 
Upon their arrival, they located one vehicle with several bullet holes in it and another with a hole. However, they didn’t find any drivers or passengers struck at the scene.
 
As a result, the CHP officers issued a SigAlert at 5:27 p.m. As a result, the roadway’s Nos. 2, 3, and 4 lanes shut down with no estimated time of reopening. Also, by 6:10 p.m., the officers shut down all lanes to search for casings. By 6:53 p.m., they reopened all lanes.
 
The detectives with the CHP’s investigative services unit will handle the crash investigation.
