Driver Arrested in Fatal Crash at Padaro Lane Exit
Carpinteria, CA (March 18, 2022, 2022) On Friday, a DUI accident on Highway 101 killed a sedan passenger.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the fatal crash happened around 2:18 a.m. at the Padaro Lane exit on Southbound 101.
Officials say that a 21-year-old from Oxnard drove his silver Nissan sedan unto the rear of a dump truck then went off-road and crashed into trees.
According to the CHP, the 21-year-old driver was seriously hurt, and their passenger died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the dump truck driver did not sustain injuries.
Authorities arrested the Nissan driver at the hospital for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
