Nino Cox Hospitalized After Hit-And-Run Crash on Good Latimer and Elm

Dallas, TX (September 18, 2024) – On Sunday morning, Nino Cox sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Good Latimer and Elm.

Dallas Police Department investigators are searching for the driver who rear-ended a Garland motorcyclist and fled the scene near Deep Ellum this past weekend.

The incident, captured by the biker’s mounted camera, shows the rider, Nino Cox, being thrown from his motorcycle after a black BMW struck him from behind. The car then sped off without checking on Cox’s condition.

“As soon as he hit me, I looked up and saw the sky,” Cox told WFAA. He explained that he was heading to meet friends in Deep Ellum early Sunday morning and had just exited US-75 near Good Latimer and Elm when the crash occurred.

Cox believes the BMW driver failed to notice him or the red light ahead. “I tapped my brakes to make sure he saw me, but he didn’t, and I got thrown from my bike,” Cox said.

Cox described the BMW as having a black grille and likely front-end damage. Authorities urge anyone with information about the driver or the vehicle to contact the police.

Though Cox went to the hospital as a precaution, he is expected to recover, suffering from soreness in his neck, back, and wrist. His bike, which he had customized over the years, is likely totaled, but he is grateful to be alive.

Reflecting on the incident, Cox said, “I feel like the person didn’t have a heart and drove away out of fear or because they were under the influence.

If it were their friend or family member, they wouldn’t have wanted them to be left like that.”
