Highway 74 Crash Leaves Fallbrook Man Nieto Ruiz Dead and Eduardo Avila Injured
Lake Elsinore, CA (April 28, 2021) – On Tuesday, 26-year-old Gabriel Nieto Ruiz of Fallbrook died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 74.
Moreover, officers responded to the scene before 4 p.m. near Ethanac Road, east of Lake Elsinore.
When they arrived, they pronounced Ruiz dead on the scene.
Apparently, Ruiz was eastbound on Highway 74 near Meadowbrook when his 2017 Honda Civic, a van, and another car crashed for reasons still unknown.
Apparently, Shaunice Denton, 28, of Moreno Valley exited the market parking lot in her 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris van. Furthermore, she did not notice a Toyota Camry headed toward her as she attempted to get on the eastbound lane.
As a result, the Toyota driver, Eduardo Avila, 19, swerved to avoid Denton, and collided head on with Mr. Ruiz.
Shenton remained uninjured, while Avila, of Perris, sustained major injuries. Subsequently, responder took him to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
Currently, he remains in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the CHP officers closed both sides of the highway for about three hours as they investigated and removed the wreckage.
