Nidia Figuroa-Hernandez, Officer Injured in Indio Car Collision
INDIO, CA (July 19, 2019) – Two people, including a CHP officer, suffered injuries in a collision on 10 Freeway on July 18.
The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on 10 Freeway eastbound just west of Monroe Street. Reports revealed that 39-year-old Nidia Figuroa-Hernandez of Chandler Arizona turned unsafely into a stopped CHP patrol unit parked on the roadside. In addition, two officers occupied the car.
Figuroa-Hernandez drove a 2008 Pontiac G6. Responders transported Figuroa-Hernandez and an officer to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the other officer didn’t suffer any injury.
All the people involved wore seatbelts during the crash. Authorities also ruled out drugs and alcohol as a factor in the collision. However, police did not release any other information regarding the accident at this time.
