Multiple Injuries Reported in DUI Crash on Pierce Street

Riverside, CA (September 3, 2022) On Thursday, police arrested Nicole Shawn Baccarella after a DUI crash on Collett Avenue that injured multiple people.

According to Riverside police, the DUI crash happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection with Pierce Street.

Reports say that Baccarella, from Riverside, lost control of her eastbound Range Rover, then crossed into the westbound lanes. Eventually, the Rover collided with a westbound 2007 Toyota Corolla.

The collision caused serious injuries to the Toyota’s occupants, a 23-year-old woman, and her 4-year-old relative.

Riverside Fire Department paramedics transported the patients to the hospital. Meanwhile, other occupants of both vehicles sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital.

Furthermore, Baccarella suffered minor injuries and medics treated her on the scene. Afterward, police arrested Baccarella and booked her into the Robert Presley Jail.

RPD says that she is charged with suspicion of DUI resulting in great bodily injury and being in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities are still investigating the incident and have not released further information about the crash.
