Nicole Lawson Killed in Painted Cave Road DUI Crash [Santa Barbara, CA]

Officers Arrest Daniel Zuzinec in Santa Barbara Fatal DUI Crash

Santa Barbara, CA (July 29, 2022) – On Saturday, Nicole Lawson, 45, died, and officers arrested Daniel Zuzinec, 37, in a DUI crash on Painted Cave Road.

It was just before 10 p.m. when the fatal collision took place north of Highway 154.

The authorities received a report of a woman down in the roadway. When they arrived, the authorities Nicole Lawson dead at the scene.

Moreover, officers arrested Daniel Zuzinec on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. 

Officers say Zuzinec experienced a medical emergency at the crash scene. The paramedics rushed him to a local hospital.

Daniel Zuzinec is currently in custody at the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Main Jail. He faces charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance, DUI causing injury, and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Also, reports say that he has previous pending charges.

In the meantime, officers are investigating the Santa Barbara fatal DUI crash. Officers are awaiting the final autopsy and toxicology results to identify Lawson’s official cause of death.
