Nicole Grantham of Paso Robles Dead Following Buellton Motorcycle Crash on Highway 101
BUELLTON, CA (December 20, 2020) – Saturday afternoon, Nicole Grantham, 31, suffered critical injuries in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101.
The deadly Buellton motorcycle accident occurred just after 12:00 p.m.
When the authorities arrived, they located the vehicle and motorcycle on the right-hand side of the northbound lanes. Moreover, they found some debris scattered in the slow lane.
The first responders confirmed that they found a motorcyclist in her 30s down in the road with serious injuries.
Thus, the county paramedics quickly initiated life-saving treatments as the CALSTAR helicopter flew to the scene. Moreover, the CHP shut down both sides of the freeway to let the helicopter land.
Afterward, responders airlifted Ms. Grantham to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in critical condition.
The Paso Robles resident later died from her injuries.
By 12:35 p.m., the southbound lanes of the freeway and the number one northbound lane fully reopened. By 1:04 p.m., all lanes have since reopened.
According to the CHP, the crash involved a Volkswagen Jetta.
At this time, the authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash.
