21-Year-Old Nicolas Velasco Marcos Arrested in Vanowen Street Fatal Crash [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (February 26, 2024) – 21-year-old Nicolas Velasco Marcos was arrested following a Vanowen Street fatal crash Sunday.

The authorities received the multi-vehicle crash report at around 11:20 a.m. in the area of Chimineas Avenue.

Officers said a white Dodge Charger driven by Velasco Marcos and a yellow Chevrolet Camaro were eastbound on Vanowen Street at a high rate of speed.

Suddenly, Velasco Marcos changed lanes and collided with the Camaro. As a result, both vehicles lost control and crashed with multiple cars. 

Sadly, the 32-year-old man driving the Camaro died at the crash scene.

Moreover, the rescuers used hydraulic rescue tools to free two people from one of the involved vehicles. 

The medical team evaluated 11 people at the scene including the Camaro driver who died. Six were transported to hospitals.

The driver of the Charger, Velasco Marcos, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The authorities later arrested and booked him for murder. He’s being held on $2 million bail.

Officers said a nearby hydrant was sheared off by the impact of the collision.
