Two Airlifted in National Trails Highway Crash
Oro Grande, CA (February 12, 2022) – On Friday, 17-year-old Nickayla Abarca of Hesperia died in a head-on crash on National Trails Highway.
The collision happened at about 5:41 p.m. near Markham Road.
Officers said a southbound Ford Escape with three occupants crossed over the double-yellow line.
As a result, the vehicle collided head-on with a northbound Ford F-150 pick-up truck with one occupant.
Responding officers pronounced Abarca, the right-front passenger in the Ford Escape, dead at the scene at 5:57 p.m.
Moreover, responding officers extricated the trapped occupants from their vehicle.
Then, the paramedics airlifted one person to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and the other to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
Meanwhile, the authorities are investigating this fatal crash.
