HWY 69 Deadly Crash Under Investigation
Cherokee County, TX (March 27, 2024) – 44-year-old Nicholas Schintgen of Minnesota was killed following a Highway 69 collision Friday.
Investigators said Nelson Terrell, 38, of Houston, was driving a southbound tractor-trailer at unsafe speeds when he lost control and struck the vehicle driven by Schintgen.
As a result, Schintgen’s vehicle veered off the west edge of the road and struck a tree. Police declared Schintgen deceased at the scene.
Troopers are still investigating this fatal collision.
