Nicholas Baker Arrested For Hit-And-Run on Calle Real in Goleta
Goleta, CA (April 26, 2020)– Sunday night, a 20-year-old Nicholas Baker, of Goleta was arrested for a hit-and-run accident on Calle Real. The unidentified woman pronounced dead on the scene.
Deputies responded upon receiving accident reports at around 10 p.m., on April 26. Dispatchers arrived on Calle Real and Violet Lane, shortly after.
Reportedly, the victim riding her bicycle and the suspect were both travelling eastbound on Calle Real when the suspect’s vehicle struck the victim. However, the suspect immediately fled the scene and did not call for help nor try to help the victim.
Moreover, the authorities confirmed that the victim died on the scene before they arrived. The identity of the woman remains unreleased.
Furthermore, the search team located Baker’s vehicle in the 900-blk of Camino Del Sur in Isla Vista around 10:30 p.m.
At this time, Baker was arrested and booked at the Main Jail on suspicion of DUI, hit and run and vehicular manslaughter, with a bail of $1,000,000.
