Early Morning Motorcycle Crash on Highway 73 in Newport Beach Turns Deadly
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (January 5, 2019) – A man was killed following a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning in Newport Beach.
The fatal crash happened around 2:14 a.m. on Highway 73, also known as San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor, at MacArthur Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding his motorcycle northbound on Highway 73 when he crashed for unknown reasons. Fire and police officials responded to the scene and found the man unresponsive.
Paramedics tried to revive the man but unsuccessful. The unidentified rider was pronounced dead at the scene. A coroner was immediately notified to conduct a full report.
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors of the crash. Further investigation is underway.
