Vehicle Crashes into Tree on 15 Freeway in Newberry Springs Leaving One Dead
NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA (March 17, 2019) – One person was killed following a car accident Sunday morning in Newberry Springs.
The fatal crash happened around 8:44 a.m. on 15 Freeway at Harvard Road off-ramp.
According to the CHP, a vehicle was traveling northbound when for unknown reasons, it drifted off the roadway and crashed into a tree on the right shoulder.
The vehicle was smoking when first responders arrived and one occupant was found stuck inside. Fire crews extricated the individual and attempted CPR and life-saving measures, before taking the victim to Barstow Community Hospital.
Sadly, the victim did not survive and was declared dead by a coroner.
No identifying information is being released at this time. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
