Two Young Girls Killed in Suspected DUI Crash in Rialto

Rialto, CA (November 26, 2024) On Sunday evening, 3-year-old Alinah and 4-year-old Neveah Flores were killed in a horrific DUI collision on Walnut Avenue.

According to the Rialto Police Department (RPD), the suspected DUI crash happened around 11 p.m. at the with Riverside Avenue.

Reports say that 2 young girls, ages 3 and 4, tragically lost their lives when a suspected DUI driver struck their family’s vehicle in Rialto.

Authorities identified the victims as Alinah and Neveah. The deadly collision occurred shortly after 11 p.m. at the intersection of Walnut and Riverside avenues.

Police reported that the girls were riding in a Honda Accord with their parents, 25-year-old Marky Flores and 24-year-old Valencia Avilez. As the family turned left onto Walnut, a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 28-year-old Alexis Garcia ran a red light and T-boned their car. The impact sent the Accord into a tow truck.

Although both girls were in car seats, one was ejected from the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Their father, Marky Flores, sustained moderate injuries but is expected to recover, while their mother, Valencia Avilez, was unharmed.

Garcia, the suspected drunk driver from San Bernardino, fled the scene but was apprehended later. He faces charges of murder, DUI, and felony hit-and-run. Authorities confirmed he was receiving treatment at a trauma center and will be booked into West Valley Detention Center upon release.

Family members held a vigil at the crash site, mourning the loss of the two vibrant toddlers. Their grandmother, Lisa Taylor, described them as joyful children who brought immense happiness to the family.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist the parents with medical and funeral expenses.
