Nelson Cuberli Injured, Ian Worley Arrested after Crash on Highway 101 [Mendocino County, CA]

Nelson Cuberli Hospitalized and 1 Detained in Mendocino County Accident on Highway 101

 
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (July 8, 2020) – On Monday morning, Nelson Cuberli sustained injuries in a crash on Highway 101.
 
According to reports, on June 6th at about 12:38 a.m., Ian Worley drove his 1982 Toyota Pickup south on Highway 101, just north of Cummings Road.
 
Meanwhile, Nelson Cuberli traveled in a 2019 Hyundai Accent north on Highway 101, north of Cummings Road.
 
For reasons still unknown, Worley lost control of his car, went across the dividing section and into the northbound lanes. Afterward, the Toyota crashed with the Hyundai. Due to the impact, both cars stopped within the northbound lanes.
 
The authorities arrested Ian Worley for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. They booked him to the Mendocino County Jail. Meanwhile, Nelson Cuberli suffered minor injuries and responders brought him to Howard Memorial Hospital.

Furthermore, the crash led to the closure of Highway 101 at Cummings Road for around 2 hours. The authorities diverted all traffic into the Cummings Road On and Off-Ramps.
 
Also, the responding units are as follows: Caltrans, Calfire, Leggett, and Laytonville Volunteer Fire Departments. The Laytonville Ambulance and McCaffrey’s Towing also came to the scene.
 
The California Highway Patrol Garberville Area currently handles the investigation.
