Neecy Reyna Dead in Tragic Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 114 [Hockley County, TX]

1 Person Killed in Hockley County Auto Accident on State Highway 114

HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX (February 28, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, Neecy Reyna died in a tragic two-vehicle crash on State Highway 114.

The incident happened at around 3:22 p.m. on State Highway 114.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a westbound truck collided with a passenger car that traveled south across the westbound lanes from a driveway of a business.

Moreover, responders rushed the driver of the passenger car, identified as 40-year-old Reyna, to Covenant Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. Also, officers confirmed that the driver of the truck, identified as 62-year-old Leslie Smith, was treated and released on scene.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the DPS continued to investigate the crash.
