Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Collision near 13th Street
PASO ROBLES, CA (October 11, 2018) – A man was killed early Thursday morning following a pedestrian crash on Highway 101. The victim was later identified as 22-year-old Nathaniel Weatherly, a homeless man whose last known residence was in San Miguel.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 5:00 AM near 13th Street. The pedestrian was either trying to walk or run across the 101 freeway when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
Weatherly suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, the unidentified driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area without notifying authorities.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the whereabouts of the hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved, and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone with information about the fatal crash is asked to call the CHP at (805) 434-1822. No further details have been provided to the public at this time.
