Nathan Hardesty Killed in Road Rage Accident on Nichols Blvd [Longview, WA]

29-Year-Old Longview Man Fatally Injured in Collision near Lake Sacajawea, Samantha Osterburg Involved

LONGVIEW, WA (November 8, 2018) — On Thursday night, a man was killed in a road rage accident on Northeast Nicholas Boulevard. The deceased victim was later identified as 29-year-old Nathan Hardesty, a resident of Longview.

As per reports, the collision took place around 6:46 PM near Lake Sacajawea. Hardesty was struck by a black 2011 Kia Forte on NE Nichols Blvd, driven by 28-year-old Samantha Osterburg of Kelso.

In the vehicle with Osterburg was 26-year-old Harley Krause of Longview. According to the authorities, Hardesty and Krause were involved in a drug deal in Kelso earlier that evening. Krause and Osterburg paid for the drugs with counterfeit money and sped away; Hardesty chased them to Longview. He had three passengers in his vehicle during that time: 23-year-old Kaschelle Burton and their two children.

Both vehicles stopped on NE Nichols, where Burton assaulted Osterburg through the driver-side window. During the assault, Hardesty got out of his car and Osterburg’s vehicle rolled forward, striking him and pinning him underneath. He suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Police recovered heroin at the scene, but no charges have been made at this time. Additional information will be released to the public, once it becomes available.
