Coachella Woman Dies after Crashing Car into Tree on 10 Freeway near Jackson Street
INDIO, CA (March 13, 2019) – A woman was killed following a car accident early Wednesday morning on 10 Freeway in Indio.
The fatal crash happened around 1:32 a.m. just between Jackson Street and Golf Center Drive exits.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2015 Chevrolet Spark was traveling eastbound on 10 Freeway when it veered to the right off the roadway and struck a tree. The car came to a stop on the dirt shoulder.
The female driver of the car, a 21-year-old Natalia Moreno of Coachella, suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s office.
Moreno was wearing a seat belt and preliminary reports indicate that alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors.
The crash is still under investigation.
