49-Year-Old Moreno Valley Woman Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near 60 Freeway
DIAMOND BAR, CA (October 25, 2018) – A woman was killed early Thursday morning following a hit-and-run crash near 60 Freeway. The victim was later identified as 49-year-old Naronica Owens, a resident of Moreno Valley.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 12:20 AM on 57 Freeway. A 1992 Honda Civic, driven by Owens, stopped in the fast lane for an unknown reason. There, it was rear-ended by a 2017 Toyota Prius operated by a 27-year-old Ontario man.
Owens exited her vehicle following the initial collision when she was struck by a third vehicle. The impact fatally injured the victim, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the third driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
Authorities described the hit-and-run vehicle as a white, 2011-model or newer Chevrolet Cruze. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the CHP’s Baldwin Park-area office at (626) 338-1164. No further details have been provided to the public, as an investigation is ongoing.
