Liliana Villafana Faces Charges in SR 17 Injury Crash
Ephrata, WA (December 5, 2022) – On Sunday afternoon, Naomi Paszeicz, 49, sustained injuries following a State Route 17 vehicle crash.
The traffic incident took place at about 2 p.m. at the intersection with State Route 28 in Soap Lake.
Washington State Patrol Troopers stated that a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by Liliana Villafana, 62, of Ephrata was southbound on State Route 17. It was stopped at a stop sign but drove into State Route 28 and struck the front end of an eastbound 2014 Toyota Prius driven by Naomi Paszeicz, 49.
The pickup rested in an embankment while the car blocked both highways.
Right away, the paramedics rushed Naomi Paszeicz and Liliana Villafana to Columbia Basin Hospital with injuries.
Officers say Liliana Villafana faces a charge of failing to yield the right of way.
Investigating officers say drugs or alcohol were not involved in the SR 17 injury crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts during the accident.
When driving, it is important to follow all driving laws and the conditions of the road. If you see any vehicle or driver that looks dangerous, keep your distance. If you see a vehicle weaving in and out of the lanes, following too closely, or traveling at a higher rate of speed, move over a few lanes and get out of their way.
