1 Person Arrested in Odessa DUI Accident on Maple Avenue and Grandview Avenue

ODESSA. TX (June 15, 2023) – Tuesday night, Nallely Mendoza and two others sustained injuries in a crippling DUI crash on Maple Avenue and Grandview Avenue.

The incident happened at around 11:17 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Grandview Avenue.

According to reports, a northbound 2007 Lexus RX350 rear-ended a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze that was stopped at a red light. Then, the Lexus driver fled the scene on foot after the crash.

Moreover, responders airlifted a 1-month-old passenger of the Cruze to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Then, paramedics transported the Cruze driver, 19-year-old Mendoza, and her 1-year-old passenger of the vehicle to Medical Center Hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested and booked the Lexus driver, 36-year-old Daisy Cordero, to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center, for intoxication assault causing serious bodily injuries and several other charges.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information became available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, authorities continued to investigate the crash.
