1 Dead in Kerman Pedestrian Accident on Highway 180 and Siskiyou Avenue

KERMAN, CA (November 17, 2023) – Thursday morning, Nadine Rodriguez died in a horrific pedestrian crash on Highway 180 and Siskiyou Avenue.

The incident happened at about 5:20 a.m. on Highway 180, just west of Siskiyou Avenue in a dimly lit area outside of the city.

According to the California Highway Patrol, as a woman crossed the street outside of a crosswalk, a Fresno County sheriff’s deputy in the eastbound lane hit her.

The authorities later identified the 68-year-old victim as Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, reports confirmed that the deputy was on duty and in his marked patrol car when the crash occurred.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and the deputy involved cooperated in the investigation.

Meanwhile, the authorities haven’t determined if the pedestrian was impaired by alcohol and/or drugs pending toxicology results.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
