Car Loses Wheel Causing Deadly Crash on 215 Freeway in Murrieta
MURRIETA, CA (December 13, 2018) – At least one person was killed following a car accident Thursday evening in Murrieta, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly crash happened around 8:18 p.m. on southbound 215 Freeway at Murrieta Hot Springs Road.
According to the CHP, a white Honda Civic lost a wheel, causing the car to spin out of control and hit a light pole. The car also struck a tree in the center divider.
Firefighters responded to the scene and confirmed the fatality of the incident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
The damaged car was towed away for evidence.
The incident is still on active investigation while the authorities are putting the pieces together.
