Semi-Truck Slams into Taco Truck in Collision near Clovis Avenue
FOWLER, CA (September 6, 2018) – Multiple people were injured in a crash on Highway 99. The late-night collision included a semi-truck, a taco truck, and two SUVs.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place at approximately 10:17 PM, just north of the Clovis Avenue off-ramp. A report showed that the semi-truck rear-ended the El Mexicano taco truck on the southbound 99. Due to the impact of the crash, the taco truck went out of control and crashed into two GMC SUVs, before flipping over.
Responding medics stated that eight to ten people were involved in the crash. The driver of one of the SUV’s suffered major injuries while several others have moderate to minor injuries.
Two lanes of the highway were shut down until around 1:00 AM on Friday morning, while crews cleaned up the road. An investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led to the multiple-vehicle collision and to identify the main cause of the incident. No further details have been provided to the public at this time.
