3 Hospitalized in Fresno City Bus Collision
FRESNO, CA (January 10, 2019) – On Thursday evening, multiple people were injured in a city bus pile-up on Cedar Avenue. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
According to the Fresno Police Department, an accident involving a FAX bus occurred near Alluvial Avenue.
As per reports, the bus driver was traveling south on Cedar Avenue. Police indicate the driver was distracted while talking to a passenger and ran a red light before sticking a SUV which was driving east on Alluvial Avenue. Due to the impact, they collided with two other SUVS and a car that were waiting at the red light.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported two passengers from the bus, a 12-year-old child and an adult, and a driver from one of the vehicles involved to a nearby hospital. The medical status of the occupants current condition are unclear at this time.
There has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time, as the investigation continues.
