Lanes Reopened After Big Rig Crash on Interstate 5
San Joaquin County, CA (November 8, 2020) – On Saturday, some lanes were closed after multiple big rigs crashed on Interstate 5.
The incident took place at about 10:50 a.m. near the Highway 33/Highway 132 offramp.
Three big rigs were traveling on northbound Interstate 5 when they got into a small crash.
The big rigs crashed again as they were pulling onto the shoulder to exchange information. One of the big rigs started a fire.
Luckily, bystanders were able to get the driver out of the burning big rig.
He sustained minor injuries but is expected to be okay.
Further, at around 10:55 a.m., a separate big rig moving southbound on Interstate 5 rear-ended another vehicle.
Apparently, the driver did not see the slow traffic.
Meanwhile, it is not clear if there were any injuries due to the crash.
Authorities asked drivers to use alternate routes. They did not provide further details.
There can indeed be several distractions on the road. That is why you need to constantly scan your surroundings for other motorists and any possibly dangerous circumstances.
