Violent Multicar Crash on Highway 195 Results in Fatality [Rosalia, WA]

Rosalia, WA (November 18, 2024) On Saturday, a 13-year-old from Pullman was pronounced dead after a violent multicar crash on Highway 195.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the deadly incident happened on US-195.

Reports say that the deadly crash involving three cars and two semi-trucks closed US-195 for most of the day on Saturday.

Authorities identified the victim as a 13-year-old from Pullman. Additionally, troopers reported that a semi-truck traveling southbound on US-195 lost control on the icy road, causing the truck and its trailer to jackknife across the northbound lanes.

Meanwhile, the car carrying the victim as a passenger was traveling north in the left lane when it collided with the jackknifed semi. The impact pushed the car into the right lane, where it struck two other vehicles. Additionally, the trailer of the jackknifed truck hit the trailer of another semi parked on the shoulder.

According to the WSP, neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
