3 People Hospitalized After Crash on 35th Avenue in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (July 4, 2024) – On Wednesday, three people sustained injuries in a crash on 35th Avenue.

Police report that a driver ran a red light, causing a crash that injured several people in north Phoenix late Wednesday night. 

According to Phoenix Fire, emergency crews were called around 10 p.m. to 35th Avenue and Beardsley Road, off the Loop 101, for a crash report.

Upon arrival, firefighters found three cars involved, with one on fire. First responders rescued a man from the burning car.

Three victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. An officer was also taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation but was later released.

Authorities say the driver was speeding on 35th Avenue when he ran the red light at Beardsley Road and crashed into two other vehicles. 

Phoenix police confirmed that the driver was under the influence and processed for DUI.

Arizona’s Family news crews observed one car with severe front bumper damage and a downed tree in the middle of the road. 

The investigation is ongoing.
