Injuries Reported after Four-Vehicle Crash Near Yerba Buena Island
Oakland, CA (September 25, 2021) – A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 near Yerba Buena Island shut down lanes on Friday morning.
The incident took place on September 24 on Interstate 80 near Yerba Buena Island just before 4:50 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and discovered that the collision involved at least four vehicles including a bus. However, due to the lack of details, it is unclear what events led up to the incident.
The impact of the incident slows down the traffic through the MacArthur Maze beyond Ashby Avenue. Caltrans cameras also showed a massive backup at the toll plaza. Later, officials issued a SigAlert to warn motorists to avoid the area.
Furthermore, authorities shut down two lanes on the Bay Bridge for preliminary duties. However, all lanes reopened by 7:25 a.m.
