Driver Trapped in Wreck Following Collision on Highway 79
San Jacinto, CA (March 12, 2021) – A multi-vehicle collision on Highway 79 at the Ramona Expressway left a driver injured on Thursday.
The incident happened on March 11 at about 3:50 p.m. on Highway 79 at the Ramona Expressway.
California Highway Patrol reported that four vehicles collided on the northbound of Highway 79. However, it is unclear what caused the incident.
The driver of a Honda sedan left trapped in his vehicle as a result of the collision. Fire crews arrived at the scene and immediately deployed hydraulic equipment to extricate the driver.
After less than an hour, officials successfully extricated the victim and later, transported the victim to a trauma center for treatment.
Due to the impact of the collision, Riverside County sheriff’s deputies and CHP officers shut down both northbound lanes. There have been no reports if the lanes reopened for the traffic.
Furthermore, the southbound side of Highway 79 remained open for the investigation.
Moreover, there were no other reported injuries from the incident.
