Child Passenger Dies in Muti-Vehicle Collision on Highway 50

Sacramento, CA (July 21, 2023) On Thursday evening, a 9-year-old child died after a multi-car crash on Highway 50.

According to California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle collision happened around 6:45 p.m. on Highway 50, near the 59th street on-ramp.

Reports say that multiple vehicles were involved in the collision, officials say that one of the vehicles veered to the right and overturned when it collided with a guard rail. The vehicle landed on its roof, causing the death of a child passenger.

CHP is investigating the probable cause of the multi-vehicle collision.
