Frightening Multi-Car Crash on Highway 152 Led to Tragedy [Gilroy, CA]

Gilroy, CA (December 23, 2023) On Friday morning, a deadly multi-car crash on Highway 152 left a driver dead and several others hurt.

According to California Highway Patrol, the fiery traffic collision happened around 1:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of Highway 152 and west of Lovers Lane.

Reports say that the driver of an eastbound 2010 Chrysler crossed over solid double yellow lines of the highway, and collied with a westbound 2018 Audi.

Officials say that after colliding, the Chrysler was flipped onto its roof and was engulfed in flames. Rescuers were not able to rescue the trapped driver, th edriver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authrities say that all 3 occupants inside the Audi, were taken to Valley Medical Center in Gilroy. 2 adults suffered moderate injuries, while a 1 year-old boy suffered minor injury. Officials say that all 3 are Union City residents.

CHP is investigating the fatal traffic collision and have not released further information at this time.
