Fatal Pedestrian Accident in San Ysidro Accident Involving MTS Trolley

 
SAN YSIDRO, CA (February 28, 2019) – A pedestrian accident on Beyer Boulevard claimed the life of an unidentified victim, late Thursday evening.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened near Smythe Avenue at about 11:40 PM. A Metropolitan Transit System trolley struck a pedestrian due to unknown circumstances.
 
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities did not report other injuries as a result of the collision.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal collision and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
