One Motorist Dies in Tragic Crash on Interstate 5
Tacoma, WA (February 27, 2021)– On Friday, a driver died in a tragic multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
The accident took place at around 5 p.m. north of 84th Street between Tacoma and Lakewood.
Apparently, a semi-truck was approaching stopped traffic when it drifted left to avoid crashing with other vehicles.
However, the driver struck the vehicle in front of him. It jack-knifed and perpendicularly faced the oncoming southbound traffic.
The driver of the crashed vehicle died at the scene while the condition of the semi-truck driver was not yet released.
Moreover, rescuers removed a female from being trapped in her vehicle. Her condition is unknown.
Meanwhile, authorities diverted traffic to 72nd Street exit 129. All lanes were reopened by 10:30 P.M.
