1 Killed in Chico Highway Traffic Collision
Chico, CA (May 14, 2022) On Friday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 99 killed 1 person.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal crash happened just before 3 p.m. south of Vina.
The CHP says that they found a white Toyota Corolla that took off from the scene in Shasta County, although the vehicle was not part of the crash.
Reports say that 2 vehicles involved in the accident are still at the scene, a Chevy sedan and a Cadillac sedan.
Authorities shut down Highway 99 from Rowles Road to Haille Road.
The highway was closed from 3 p.m. up until 5:41 p.m.
Officials are investigating the crash and have not released additional information regarding the deceased.
