Motorcycle and Car Collide on 80 Freeway in El Sobrante
EL SOBRANTE, CA (May 23, 2019) – A motorcyclist was found unresponsive following a traffic collision Thursday morning in El Sobrante.
The collision happened around 6:16 a.m. on westbound 80 Freeway, just West of El Portal Drive exit.
According to the CHP, a beige Honda sedan and a motorcycle collided for unknown reasons. The impact sent the rider on the ground.
A red Honda Accord, a green older Toyota Camry and a red Toyota Prius all stopped in the crash site, unknown if they were involved in the crash.
Arriving fire crews found the rider unresponsive on the ground. Paramedics transported the patient to a hospital in an unknown condition.
A SigAlert was issued in the area, blocking the first and second lanes of the freeway while the rescue and clearing operations were being conducted.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors.
