Matthew Griswold Arrested after DUI Crash on Lincoln Way
AUBURN, CA (September 9, 2019) – A motorcyclist and a child were hospitalized after a DUI crash on Lincoln Way, Monday afternoon.
According to the Auburn Police Department, the incident happened along the 100 block of Lincoln Way, shortly after 3:30 PM. A westbound vehicle crossed over a double yellow line into oncoming traffic. There, it struck a motorcyclist riding with his 10-year-old son.
Emergency responders rushed the motorcyclist to a hospital with critical injuries. Meanwhile, they transported his son to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
Authorities arrested the wrong-way driver, identified as Matthew J. Griswold, on a felony charge of driving under the influence causing injury. Police say Griswold is being held on $50,000 bail.
