2 Hospitalized after Thurston County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 8
THURSTON COUNTY, WA (September 7, 2020) – Saturday, a motorcyclist and his passenger were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 8.
According to reports, a crash between three vehicles and a motorcycle occurred around 5:00 p.m. The incident took place on Highway 8 and Winslow Drive, east of Summit Lake.
According to reports, a 27-year-old Seattle man was driving east on Highway 8. However, he slowed for stopped traffic. Thus, triggering the multiple-vehicle crash.
The authorities revealed that the Seattle driver and his two passengers were uninjured. The 58-year-old male driver from Lakewood and a 38-year-old male driver from Elma were also uninjured in the crash.
Unfortunately, the 34-year-old male motorcyclist from Lacey and his 19-year-old female passenger suffered injuries. Responders airlifted the rider to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Meanwhile, they transported the woman to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.
Due to the crash, the authorities shut down Highway 8 for more than two hours.
Meanwhile, the troopers revealed that the Lacey motorcyclist will possibly face charges on reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
The crash remains under active investigation.
