Rider Fatally Hurt in Fresno Traffic Accident on Shepherd Avenue
FRESNO, CA (October 28, 2019) – A motorcyclist died following a traffic accident on Shepherd Avenue on Saturday, October 26.
According to Lt. Ron Hughes, police received 911 calls at about 2:30 p.m. about the crash at Shepherd Avenue and Friant Road.
When officers arrived at the scene, the motorcyclist was lying in the roadway and died at the scene. Reports describe him as a male in his 50s.
Hughes stated that the motorcyclist moved northbound on Friant when he crashed into the driver’s side of a gray Nissan sedan.
The driver of the Nissan stayed on the scene. She suffered minor injuries but did not seek medical attention.
According to Hughes, there were no other passengers in the vehicle. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
Authorities shut down both directions of Friant and Shepherd.
