21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in State Route 99 Collision [Modesto, CA]

Modesto, CA (September 23, 2023) – On Thursday morning, a 21-year-old motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries following a State Route 99 collision.

The fatal accident happened minutes past 5:30 on the northbound freeway south of Hammett Road.

Responding officers located a man lying on the northbound lanes when they arrived.

Investigators said a man was driving a 2010 Mercedes sedan approaching Hammett Road when incoming traffic forced him to slow down.

The motorcyclist behind him who was traveling at an unknown speed rear-ended the Mercedes. 

As a result, the motorcyclist was thrown from the bike.

The 21-year-old was pronounced deceased after being transported to an area hospital.

Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the fatal accident.
