Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Highway 371 in Aguanga
AGUANGA, CA (June 20, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon following a rollover crash on Highway 371, near Lake Riverside Drive.
The two-vehicle collision happened around 1:35 p.m., on eastbound Highway 371. Dispatchers arrived just north of Lake Riverside Drive near the Cahuilla Indian Reservation shortly after.
According to reports, the rider went down and rolled onto the shoulder of the highway. A white Honda Civic was also struck by crash debris due to the impact. However, the events leading up are unclear.
Arriving units attempted to revive the injured victim, but the rider was later pronounced dead on scene. The identity of the deceased victim has not been released to the public at this time.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened. Details surrounding the crash were not made clear in the reports and media releases. Further investigation of the accident is still currently underway.
