Rider Dead after Valley Center Crash at Valley Center Road
VALLEY CENTER, CA (August 4, 2019) – A motorcyclist died following a head-on crash at Valley Center Road Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The crash happened around 4:28 p.m. near the intersection of Valley Center and Round Tree roads. According to the CHP, the motorcyclist was riding a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250 eastbound on Valley Center Road, just west of Round Tree Road. After that, for unknown reasons, he crossed over into the westbound lanes. As a result, the motorcycle collided with a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck towing a utility trailer.
The rider, only described as a 42-year-old man, ejected from his bike. However, police pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The 38-year-old pickup driver was uninjured. He remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Further investigation of this crash is underway.
