Deadly Motorcycle Crash on Highway 79 in Aguanga
AGUANGA, CA (February 8, 2020) – A motorcyclist died in a traffic accident Saturday afternoon in Aguanga, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 2:40 p.m. on Highway 79 at Sage Road.
According to the California Highwy Patrol, a motorcycle went off the roadway and into the bushes of an embankment.
Firefighters responded to the scene and provided aid, but the rider died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available pending family notification.
The crash raised a SigAlert in the area, blocking the eastbound lanes of the highway until around 3:24 p.m.
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
