Rider Found Dead off Highway 192 in Montecito
MONTECITO, CA (September 13, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Friday morning on Highway 192 in Montecito.
The crash happened around 6:45 a.m. just east of Glen Oaks Drive.
CHP said a 47-year-old man was riding a 2018 BMW motorcycle westbound on Highway 192 at an unknown speed, when his bike went off the roadway and collided into a drainage culvert.
As a result, the man died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending family notification.
Highway 192 was closed for about 20 minutes while officials worked on scene.
It is unclear if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
