Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on 5 Freeway at Alton Parkway [IRVINE, CA]

Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 5 Freeway in Irvine

 
IRVINE, CA (June 14, 2019) – An unidentified motorcyclist was killed Friday morning in a traffic crash on 5 Freeway, near Alton Parkway.
 
Authorities responded a little after 5:00 a.m., along the northbound lanes of 5 Freeway. Dispatchers arrived just south of Alton Parkway shortly after.
 
According to reports, firefighters found the rider down in the third lane upon arrival. However, the circumstances leading up to the collision are currently unclear.
 
Furthermore, the rider sustained fatal injuries as a result of the impact. Paramedics later pronounced the victim dead on scene due to the extent of their injuries.
 
Two freeway lanes were blocked while an investigation was conducted in the area, but have since reopened. Moreover, the motorcycle was also towed away from the scene for evidence.
